Need some help guys

Postby soloryder711 » Fri Mar 25, 2011 11:47 am

Ok lets see if anyone has had this problem. I have an 09 Lancer ES Sport with the 4b11 and a 5spd with 60k miles on both. I am having a problem with a slipping clutch but only in 3rd 4th and 5th. 1st and 2nd I can slam on and its perfectly fine. but riding at 50 and needing to accelerate Ill stay in 4th and step on it and when I do it will rise in rpms to about 4k and then drop after a second or two down to about 3 then rise in rpms like normal. Well guys its complicated but can anyone help me?

That sounds like a pressure plate or throw out bearing problem. All will be good with a new clutch kit.

Take into Mitsubishi. It's should be covered by warranty.

Well boys. The answer came out today when the car brokedown on the interstate while i was in stop and go traffic from an accident up ahead. The peak plate to inspect the flywheel on the motor side began to leak hydraulic fluid.

Ok I finally got an answer after it was towed to the dealership and they got to take a look inside. They told me the throw out bearing was the root of all my problem. So if anyone runs into this while driving. Have it checked out guys. Could be serious. Gonna cost me about $1400 USD
