Scare people.

If i remember correctly from my learner book, its to warn other drivers. It didnt actually state what though...

I believe the law says 'only in emergencies'... Like if your brakes have failed or something (or you drive a toyota and it decides to take off :P). Its not very useful though because things happen fast in crashes, and if you have time to sound your horn you should have time to stop/they wont have time to react to it anyway.

Makes sense in a truck or something, not so much in a car, but it gives you the ability to alert people of something...

I have a horn so that when people stand on the side of the road with signs that say "honk if you're horny" etc I can honk my horn. :D hehehehe

Oh and I also use my horn if people are being wankers on the road and cut me off, or if they merge into my lane, like a truck did last week. Yeah and he got a massive blast :D

Mine when fitted will be to scare the crap out of idiots that pull out in front of you at last second, and sound so much better then the stock ones.

i have been pulled over before because i blew my horn at someone who overtook me like i was standing still and on a double white line. and i got warned

I prefer to flash lights than use horn if someone does something stupid/irresponsible.
