Free Stainless Tip - at your postage cost..

Postby tryg » Fri Jul 24, 2009 9:12 pm

Everyone, I have just had my exhaust replaced, but saved the stainless rolled lip tip that was on the stock 2" tip...

It needs a polish and you will have to muscle the old pipe out of the end (it was just cut off the stock muffler).

I think it would be best for someone local, as postage in a 3kg express bag would be $12...

If someone local to Toowoomba wants this, or anyone who is willing to pay the postage, all yours...

If you use a drift and a hammer, I would say it would be fairly easy... I have a polisher on a stand... I will give it a really good buff and cut, so that it will look ok... I will try to get it out, but if I am too lazy.. good luck!

If you can get it out for me...Ill probley take it. How does it actually attach to the exhaust? bolted on...or like crimped onto the exhaust....

It is just a neat (tight) fit.... like all of these tips, it has a reduction (indentation) to allow this fitment...

perfect if you have a vice in your shed, attach to old pipe and use a drift and a mallet to bring the tip off... sorry I don't have access to these articles here...

Something for all you creative buggers...

The exhaust guy would need to get a piece of 2" pipe and expand it up to over 2.5". Weld the expanded end to your existing pipework, and put the tip on the other end...

The amount of labour in it, you would probably be better off buying a 2.5" tip :)
