Heads Up Display

Postby Lancer1993 » Thu Oct 01, 2015 7:39 am

Has anyone used the OBDII port for a Heads Up Display like this one from SCA?

And where is the OBDII port?

The port is located above the driver side foot well on the right. From memory it is near the bonnet release.

Have a look half way down the page on this thread http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=13115 and someone has a windscreen mounted one.

Interesting, didnt know SCA was selling that kinda stuff. Might see about integrating it into the instrument cowling on top for a more factory look.

I was playing around with a headsup display using an old Android phone and an ODB2 adapter about 6 months ago. It worked well at night. But was almost useless during the day - gave up trying to find a suitable film to put on my windscreen.

+1

not sure about this unit from SCA. but if its just a LCD screen then its probably not going to work during intense daylight.

BMW M series have heads up displays for the drivers *drools.

Its a nice idea and would love to do it but the SCA might not be the best. Would be so cool if Mitsy would add this kit to newer CJs or the next Lancer.

I know its probably going to be hard to read in bright sun light but do you really need a film on the screen?
