Getting Rid of Car Parts Advice
This isn't a for sale thread just looking for some advice. I have several genuine parts of a 2014.5 ES Sport (headlights, taillights, wheels, bonnet) all in good condition. I'm trying to get rid of them to find some space so have posted them up on Gumtree numerous times over the past 6 months each time at a lower price. I live in the NT so out of state buyers are not very viable unless they agree to pay postage. Worse comes to worse I'll be throwing a perfectly good genuine bonnet into the tip which makes me cringe. Has anyone had difficulty selling car parts particularly of their Lancers?

Given the small market have you tried wreckers to see if they will give you something or at least find them a good home. Maybe even smash repair place, I know they often deal with insurance companies so new parts are the norm but it might be worth a shot.
Most if not all those parts should fit most CJ Lancers and not just your model.

Wreckers won't give me enough to make the trailer rental and trip worthwhile. Getting to the stage where I'm tempted to sell my Evo Style Bonnet and put the OEM one back on, simply because the Evo bonnet might sell a bit better. Makes me sad to throw away good parts. Although I did see a crashed red Lancer today . Looks like a Ute with bullbar smashed his rear quarter panel who if worse comes to worse I'll try track down and see if they want wheels and new taillights.

yep.
most OEM parts would only appease people who want a repair. there may be some who will want parts to return to stock as they did not keep their old parts.
but your looking at a very small group of people.
Also being in the NT i imagine the lancers are not as common as in some of the other states but geography and population aside.
you may be able to get scrap metal value. if you want to get full value you would need to remove any other bits and paint so that the item is as pure as it can be.
average price for steel is around 10c a kg in adelaide and around $1.50 a kg for clean mags.
Copper and brass is where the real money is at.
