Need help with timing chain

Hey all im in the process of replacing my timing chain to the new upgraded one.....My question is:


WTF am i ment to do with the oil squirter? do i leave it, do block it off??? Im hoping mcCoy can chime in here

cracked this aswell, leave the oil squirter in but cut a few mm off the nipple, no harm done, just straight swap the chain over, guides and tensioners only needed if they are worn out or damaged

what parts did you purchase and what were the part numbers? i'm definitely looking into this, as my engine has copped some serious abuse over the last 5 years.

Ill try digg up the part numbers, all u need is the timing chain and oil pump chain....guides and tensioners only needed if worn out/damaged...and lots of patience

max $400 in parts if u get all the guides etc...timing chain 130, oil chain 110

labour 2-3days at home based with basic tools

Shop time 6-8hours max $110-$120 per hr

dealership quote for job 8hrs $978 plus oil ad filter

once installed u need to reset learnt value,

If u tuned u need to retune again otherwise u WILL knock and ping thats the only down side
