Custom ES console upgrade

Which one are you talking about? there are 2 consoles on that site.

One of them i believe you need the VRX center console. and the other one you have to screw in. Correct me if im wrong anyone.

Yeah - looks to be that way... the one with the "in car" pic is on a VRX console... u can see it's higher than an ES console and has a latch toward the front (ES doesn't have this latch...)

And the other one looks like maverick's one that came with his car.... I like it, but I don't know how it fits... I would imagine it just looks like a "lid" and isn't raised up very high to act as an armrest.... but not sure!

The ES has the OPTION of side/curtain airbags at least ;-)

No option of a console lid...

Any progress with the console?I have been looking for one since I've bought my Lancer, spent hours on internet and it is amazing that no one seems to be making them.You'll sell heaps if you get them wright

I was just with jazzyb tonight, me and him had a little mini meet. He was expecting it today but the postie didnt bring it. So we were both shattered. Hopfully it will be in jazzys hands by monday

I suppose this just shows the level of anticipation for it, if it's decent, it will sell quite well

I will let you know, it isnt colour matched to the car it the moment though, obviously its still a prototype and its still in its development stages.

I know many think its a bit chunky from the pictures, but looking at the CAD design that jazzy showed me last night, hes drawn everything to scale, only thing thats different is that the ES console has a slight curve along the top, and the one in jazzys design doesnt. Once the console gets to him, he will put that curve in himself. And ill be the first to see it xD

Monday! PLZ Monday!!! everyone cross your fingers, I'm anticipating it as much (if not more!) than you!!!!

I WAS shattered! lol - a client came thru the door last thing on friday with a box, as soon as I saw the box and before i saw the client I RAN to the door and almost bowled him over - told him he was a prick for fooling me :-P

(good mates with him, he understood the situation ;-)

I'm wrapped to see this much support guys/gals - good things do take time... Good thing is, I've got a bit of that at the moment... The most difficult bit I forsee now is colour matching / upholstering (depending on which way we go) as I have ZERO experience in that department. Functionallity is all up to me, but the finish on the product, I need to find a capable person to do it (hopefully cheap!)

Again - anyone reading this know anyone who does 'car interior stuff' or upholstry, PM me, I've got a few leads to try, but want to find the best balance of quality/price...

Oi jazzy, not 100% sure if he does it or not, but theres a guy on grimshaw street, "street sound vision" he does all custom audio/interior stuff. Maybe he might be a place to start? If he doesnt do it, he's gotta know someone who would? I got my stereo installed by him, hes a bit arrogent, but at the end of the day, he knows what hes talking about

lol - u just reminded me, i know of this places that "dips" car interior parts (dashes etc.) in different finishes, so u can have stock dash "dipped" in woodgrain stuff and viola! - u have a woodgrain dash...

If they can do woodgrain, chrome etc... they GOTTA be able to do something as plain as "ES interior grey" right?

I'll sus it on monday too - perhaps I can have this prototype colour matched afterall!

Hopefully once you have the final thing colour matched and everything, might be able to get a texture going, so it starts to look 'more' OEM.
