No DIY has been done. Fairly basic, might post it up if I can be bothered and remember to take photos.
- clean grille surround with wax/grease remover
- prime the grille surround (2-3 coats)
- sand primer smooth
- clean with wax/grease remover
- paint in desired colour (2-3 coats)
- finish with a few clear coats [using acrylic lacquer]

- be ready before you start
- (practically speaking) don't overspray, go slow
