Drive Belt Recall for 2008-2011 Lancers

I've got mine booked in for Monday, should I expect a letter at some point even after the work has been done?

I'm the 2nd owner and have had it less than 2 weeks.

If you are the 2nd owner and did not buy it from a mitsubishi dealership then chances are you will not receive a letter. unless the 1st owner informed mitsubishi of the new owner (highly unlikely someone would go that far out of their way)

I got it from the Cricks Group which has a Mitsubishi dealership but they didn't even bother checking about the recall before I got the car. I know the hasn't official in AU very long but still you would think someone would have taken the time to run the VIN for any outstanding recalls as a part of their normal business practice.

I'm not holding my breath on the letter.

Okay got mine done, they only replaced the drive belts and the pulleys and stuff were okay.

Cool thing is I had the dash cam on and they didn't turn the key off fully so it recorded the whole procedure LOL maybe I should make a movie and post it?

Im still waiting to have mime done as the local mits dealership are a bunch of idiots and cant seem to find nor order the correct parts for an RA. Ive been back there 4 times in the past 2 weeks and all I get are more excuses as to why they havent been able to do it.

Got mine done today at Heartland Mitsubishi Chullora.

I was quoted about 3 hours but they ended up doing in about 45 minutes, as apparently it's like a production line with the number they're getting in.

They attached my recall letter to the receipt and kept it with them. I didn't ask for a receipt. They mentioned that only the belt needed to be replaced; the pulleys were fine.
Checked under the bonnet and can confirm that it's a new belt in there. Have driven it around a bit and haven't noticed anything dodgy.

Got my car back and they replaced both the pully and belt on mine

I have a dash cam too, and comes on only when ignition power is 'on'.

Filmed them when I had the car in the replace the clutch and there was some very interesting convo in the cabin between the Mitsu technician and mechanic.

One note on the Dash Cam when I got the car back I noticed it had been moved/turned. At first I thought the heat had loosened it somehow. But on the video you can see someone was moving it, maybe they didn't like being filmed LOL.

Would be cool if the auto sensors near the mirror contained a 1080 HD camera.
