They are not limiting themselves to one marque... so far I have heard from my club members about a Suzuki GSXR1000, a Triumph Speed Triple and a Yamaha FJR1300

Don't know why they would use the Accord though. It's not really good at anything besides tricking motorists. That being said, my cousin is a detective and he gets a Land Cruiser to use.

I don't think cars like an Accord will be used by traffic cops. More likely they are detectives cars.

Even though detectives have powers to pull over motorists, my cousin says that it is within the culture of detectives in QLD Police to not pull over motorists. Unless you are a crazy nut and about to kill someone.

It's to trick motorists. Same reason they have Golf GTi, Toyota Hilux, Honda Civic, RA, Evo all unmarked. Blend in and pounce.

Saw that Accord pulling over somebody, that's how I saw it with the lights on.

I think they should have as many unmarked cars as possible.. and pull over people who think its fun to tailgate motorcyclists...

I don't tailgate motorcyclists, but they sure as hell tailgate me!

Not so bad in my Lancer, but in my work van, I can't see them.

Fair enough. I think spending the money on an accord to trick motorists is a bit of a con job on the taxpayer though. There are cars better suited for unmarked duty that peform much better for the price, and they will still blend in just as well.
