Bob is on the money.
there are 2 rev limits in the car.
1. Stationary - When the car is sitting still, say at Traffic lights. Standard around 5250
2. Normal - When you're driving. Standard around 6500
Lowering the stationary limit to say 3000 provides a launch function. So You can then left-foot brake, mash the throttle and the engine will sit at 3000 and when you let go of the brake, you're off.
The car won't engage the clutch until the brake is released, but when it does it's harder than normal take off, so wear and tear is higher. Not recommended for repeated use.
Safe to leave the RPM limit at that level all the time though, as it only functions at that low level when the car is stationary, including revving the car when in Park and Neutral.
@ Bob, you have a Tactrix, but do you have a definition file for your ECU?
