Cost of service
Hi guys, how much have you been charged to service your CJ Lancer? Is it a set price or do different dealers have their own pricing?

I recently had my 60,000km service done, it cost $220 excluding the oil flush/tank additive and wheel rotation. 15k and 30k services were a similar price, about $200 from memory.
My 45,000km service which is semi-major (air filter, coolant, brake fluid) was $400. Need a new filter already though cos of all the dust the other week! I tried to blow it out with the compressor but still dirty lookin'. Thinking about a K&N, I was quoted $150 locally. Only problem is when I go back to Mitsu for a service I will have to take it out and pay for a standard replacement at 90k service otherwise if I need my warranty they may kick up a stink about it.
Gearbox oil coming up soon Hopefully it sorts out the noise mine makes..

Lancer gooooone
hahaha no, they just want you to believe that.
It's in the Trade Practices Act that you can service your car yourself or get a mechanic to do it. No need to return to the dealer. PROVIDED the service is carried out as per the service book, the book is dated, signed and the ODO written.
I serviced my last car all myself as well (Mitsubishi mirage, bought brand new also) and I had to get some things done under warranty. They commented how I never got it serviced by them, but they can't do anything about it.

I thought that in order to maintain the 5/10yr warranty and roadside assist the car must be serviced at a mitsu dealership at least ONCE a year?
Thats what I was told and also read in the warranty slip in the book.
I would be very happy to do my own servicing and not be bound to taking it to mitsu once a year!

You don't have to take it to Mitsubishi every year to maintain the 5/10 year warranty.
If you wish to keep the 3 year Roadside Assist you must have them service it once per year. In the 3rd year of your service you just need them to look at the car in order for the 5 year warranty to continue for the remainder 2 years.
However:
1x Service = ~$250
1x Annual Subscription to RAC = ~$60
So really still better off sticking to your RAC Assist package and saving money on the services (they provide the Mitsi one anyway)

So will Mitsu charge you for the privilege?
I dont take mine to the dealer, provide my own parts & get my mechanic to do the work & stamp the logbook.

That is what I don't know yet. I will find out sometime this year
The book says in the final 6 months so after June I can take it in.

No, the dealers charge what they like.
Ring up the all dealers in Brisbane for a price for a 45,000km service. Dare ya.. If you don't I will.

you got ripped bro, the 30k service should cost only $220AUD incl GST. that's how much I paid for mine done last september.
If you see a blue lancer in Melbourne and it looks like a VRX, that'll be me!
