Obviously other than a plane lol...
I'm cruising up to the Gold Coast tomorrow morning with 3 mates in the Lancer.
The Pacific Hwy is the obvious choice, but I'm been told faster speed limits and less traffic can make the New England Hwy faster.
It's been about 7 years since I did this trip by road, last couple of time to QLD it was via air.
Any other tips for the trip.
Cheers

2008 VRX Lancer, Black , Manual, Rockford upgrade
Well I am in Uralla mate that the new england Highway runs through and for me it is about 6 -6.5 hours to the gold coast. The highest speed limit you will
hit on the new england highway these days is 100km/h, so I think the pacific is your best bet. Maybe Lzy-eye will chime in on this thread as he has
mad that journey only in the last couple of weeks.

One time of day going from Brisbane to Sydney the New England was quicker. Even though it was about 100kms longer it was slightly quicker because less slowing down for useless towns... But not these days with all the new bypasses up the Pacific Highway. The Pacific beats it by an hour or so now, which is quite amazing really.
The one advantage the New England does have though is less po-po and a nicer drive. But since it's now longer time wise, probably not worth it. It used to have a few sections with unrestricted speed limit, but I believe that's now changed.
