Carbon Fibre or Blue Suede?

Greetings all!

I need to retrim my roof lining in my car because I don't like it at the moment and it's starting to sag.
I've bought some 3M super 77 adhesive spray, so if I do it again that should help a bit more (plus I know to leave it for atleast 30 seconds to let it get "tacky") so it should hopefuly not sag at all

I bought some Neffywrap to see what that's like about two weeks ago and it arrived yesterday, it doesn't seem like the best material to be using on the plastic of the car, I might try some drycarbonwrap.com for that, but I was thinking of putting this CF fabric on the roof.

I currently have blue suede in my door inserts and would like it all to match up together, the blue will be more "matching" and "outstanding" (Can't think of the right words) but I'm worried that it will also sag in time.

The CF is lighter than the suede so that's a bonus, the CF cost me about $125 shipped and the suede would be around $50-80 but I'm really undecided on what to pick

What do you guys think I should do? I'll leave the poll open until next week and I'll probably do it then I think.

Graham I am not a fan of CF, but it is your car. Best you make the dicision what is best for you.

I suggest it is important that all the fabrics and colour of your interior match or compliment each other.

I would place the materials in to the car and compare the differences and whether they match the seats, carpets, door trims etc.

If there is a woman around get their advice as they generally have a more artistic eye for this type of thing.

This is why most car manufacturers around the world have woman to influence the stiling of their cars!

I've placed the CF in the car and held it against the roof and it does look pretty nice, either way whichever I go with it should compliment the interior colours, the door trims are blue suede and I have the CF dealer accessories and wouldn't mind doing the VRX Style CF trim along the middle of the dash/doors aswell.

I'll ask a few women what they think, I know my girlfriend will probably hate it (along with everything else I do ) unless it's red, lol.

I hope either way it comes out well. I chose your suede option (I am guessing its a lighter artificial suedette? because a single piece of real suede to do a roof would not only be heavy but freaky expensive).

I think the CF material looks appropriate on hard plastics and trim pieces because people are accustomed to seeing that and it looks like it's possibly real CF...

I realise you are going for texture, not trying to emulate real CF on your hood lining, but the blue material would just pop!

To be honest I'm not too sure if it is artificial or not
It's available at spotlight for $27ish per meter (140cm width - just enough to do the roof), so being that cheap I'd assume that it is artificial.

I can't find any specs or a link on the spotlight website I'm afraid.

proper sued is a leather.

Ohh okay, yeah the one I have isn't leather, I think it's more of a microfibre suede

My wife is a tailor and she said buckleys of getting real leather suede at spotlight...

So, what are you leaning toward?

I want to do the blue to keep it the same as the doors/interior LED's but I also want to see what the CF looks like, my main concern is the weight of the suede, I don't want to take it apart a third time if it does start to sag. I'll do it next week, so I have all week to think about it

That CF-style neffy wrap is very light.. might be a good option, maybe do all the doors like that.. hehe either way its more work!

Why not both? Have your blue suede as the main colour then use the carbon one for highlights? Wrap that one around all them silvery bits in the dash and doors.

Thanks everyone, I think I'll probably end up doing the blue suede first and see how it goes.

Tim, That's what I plan on doing but I might use the drycarbonwrap for that stuff as it should be more adhesive than the spray if it has the 3m tape backing

"Don't you step on my Blue Suede Shoes..la la la" Yea blue suede for me, i always think you are never wrong with matching interior colours but you can definitely use the CF for the little plastics that can be removed in the car, that will compliment the Blue suede. Otherwise, it might look too cluttered and nothing to focus on.

For example if i sit in your car after everything's done, i would say "hmm..nice blue interiors with carbon fire looking trimmings, KOOL!"
