SIR-VRX wrote:True, but LEDs still lack the "warmth" of halogen if you get what I mean...

Like how all globes in homes now must be energy efficient. So fluorescents are replacing a lot of incandescents and halogens, and the "warmth and feel" if a soft halogen or incandescent lights is gone, even with "warm white" fluros.

well the colour you can get close to but as you said it will be a verycrisp light, and some luxons do get very hot. in the way of actual warmth lol

plus it only takes about 6-8 Luxons to get the same brightness as a 55W halogen, but whether it has the same throw of light i don't know.

i could buy some ring Luxons, only thing about them is that they are $150, lol
ill see if i can think of a way to set it up. and i might make some.

I think someone should start making these as an aftermarket part for the CJ and sell them :P

the actual HID headlights are already in production but they are being made. still. and the DRL's proably are pretty easy to make.

like the HID headlights, look great... the DRLs look a bit amateurish and a bit gawdy... there is a simple answer... make these available

Image

Classic look, wont look old too quickly, but bring on those HIDs.

Must agree with tryg, those DRLs in the Bill's post look very "concept car-ish". Looks unfinished and untidy.
HIDs whilst agressive, could do with a bit more refining, looks to busy.

The one posted by tryg, looks nice, be nice if they continued it down the edge to the bottom, like an L shape as the Merc E Class ones.

So would the concesus be a straight line (I intended just making a direct line of LEDs through the centreline of the cover splitting the fog), or make an L shape as suggested by VRX_Pete?
