All those listings were for EVO bonnets... may be too weak for normal bonnets, possibly?

Possible, but I can't imagine the weight difference on the respective hoods to be that different, can it?
Always play dumb and return to sender or off load or learn an expensive lesson.

I like the look of the ones hotlanc has. Not too sure what you guys up north might be doing deal wise, but I'd be interested to buy in if someone wouldn't mind posting them on to me.

We can certainly arrange a bulk buy of them.

If you are interested we can confirm the prices. I believe there are 2 options... Black struts and Chromed struts for a bit more money ($30 or so more)

I'd be in for black as I'm going for a somewhat ninja theme. Let me know, thanks Adrian.

Great ground work Adrian, Ofey and VRX_Pete. Looks as though 3 states want them and there available in each.

I hope the Redliine site has'nt crashed from all the hits and downloads, so I assume most guys have the install instruction sheets etc buy now !

Thanks Adrian for the photo of Hotlance's Dave's set-up.
If you all look closely, you will notice it's exactly the same as mine except for one difference. The Bracket and Ball Stud are in opposing positions.
My Ball Stud in on the Hood Hinge --- Dave's is on the Top of Guard
My Bracket is on the Top of Guard --- Dave's is on the Hood Hinge.
The Gas Strut is mounted identically, (ie: Chamber above - Rod below)

The only real "Difference" is the method of installation.
My set-up requires "Drilling and Pop Rivetting".
Dave's set-up "does not".

Both set-up's operate identically using the exact same parts, it's simply a matter of which-way suits you and wheather or not you have access and/or ability to tools! (electric drill & pop rivet gun).

The best part is that any of you guy's can do this mod with relative ease! Maybe a friend just to hold the hood up for you.

PS: As I mentioned in the first post, I will be seeing Ming in the next day or two to confirm the correct Strut pressure's.
The NA Lancer hoods are the heaviest and thus require a strong lift rating.

Cheers: Sam
Well done to all who are participating in this thread !

I am after the gas struts as well, but will probably be the only one from S.A.
I like the sound of the chrome and the brackets that mount in our holes already in the cars.
If someone could help me with more details on brand and part No. I can try to find them here.
Or if they someone could get me the struts and brackets and I will pay them including posting?

Hey Aspir3, I'm not so sure about the chrome type, but I'm willing to purchase and send you a black kit when I finish talking to my contact.
I'll PM you soon !. Hang-In There.

aspir3,
if you want the chrome ones, we can organise from QLD. They would seem to be in the region of $135 (yet to be confirmed), will give them a call on Monday 4 Jan. Delivery would be by registered post, probably no more than $20. It makes it more expensive but your car deserves the chrome finish...

I myself would also rather pay more for these ones which require no modification to the car to fit...

Thanks guy's. When you find out the details send me a PM and I can organise. Not sure which way to go? I am not to fussed on the chrome. I believe it would look better on my car, but the brackets are the most important as they give a more standard look. This is important to me, as I don't like parts looking out of place.

Well then if you don't mind black, should only be around the aforementioned $105, then add delivery.
