Sorry to hijack the thread like that but has anyone seen the rear panel (and have a picture) of our MMCS system. It's not the same as the US one but the folks in the US have a DIY installation of the Reverse Parking Camera which we could do for just over $200 instead.

Here's a photo of the one the Mitsubishi dealer fitted to my Sportback ...

And here's a (rather bad) photo of the MMCS with the rear camera in operation ... when reverse is selected the camera comes on ... the yellow line at the bottom of the screen is about as far as you'd want to reverse to .. and you can also see the top of the bumper (which doesn't show up in the photo)

Looks awesome mate. I am considering getting the camera, do you know where they mount it on the sedan?

not sure if this is where they mount it for our aussie spec RA's but i remember going through some pics of RA's from japan and they are mounted dead center just under the mitsu logo.

^^ Yes that is how the Aussie ones mount

just remember that such a method of mounting will require a permanent hole to be drilled into you bonnet  So if you live in a coastal area, prolly not a good idea as it'll be a perfect stop for rust to take hold...

Doesn't look like they got it in the middle anyway..... looks a bit to the left of the diamond badge.

What about getting the reverse sensors instead HOGGY - they work very well on my car.

The camera looks a little out of place mounted like that anyway on the sedan I think
The reversing sensors would be a better option for me as I dont have the MMCS system in my car

I got the sensors and they work a treat - can reverse anywhere with absolute confidence despite the fact that vision out the back window of the sportback is quite restricted.

I've fitted an aftermarket butterfly style one to the rear of my sportsback. It fits just to the top left side of the rear number plate up under the plastic trim so you can barely see it face on. It looks great from the outside and you can still see the whole rear of the car. Parallel parking is so much easier with it. I'll try post some pics
