I originally got the 8000's but when I have some spare $$'s I might change them to a lower kelvin temp..

i have placed an order for 2 sets of 6000k (my bro and i) from automoglow nearly 4 days ago, and i am yet to receive a confirmation email or a reply to any of my msgs on here or via email.. .. .. hmmmmm


all i was given was a receipt from pay pal which was generated automatically by paypal... hmMMMmmmmMMMMmmmmmmmmmm

yeh iv'e got 8000K aswell. they look great and i drive it alot at night, followed cops and they haven't once pulled me over. so yeh... i did lower the low beams thow so they aren't blinding on-coming traffic.

They are still going to be blinding, even if you point them a foot in front of your car.

The reflector was designed for a halogen globe, so it can not correctly aim the HID light. Even if you adjust the aim, it's still not anywhere near good enough.

Too true...

I was blinded tonight by a Camry Wide body 95 model (i think) with HIDs (6000K) installed... could not see forward for a few seconds after looking in my rear view mirror. P**sed me off, could have caused an accident.

I wish people would understand that they need projector beams to have HIDs, not be stupid fools trying to make their car look good.

They be HID-specific projectors.

You need 10,000k on yours krz coz you've bloody got 5% tint on your headlights!! :P:P

Is it possible to only convert the high beams to HID and leave the low beams as stock halogen so as to have the benefit of both, ie good driving lights to spot roos and then OEM low beams for other motorists.

Yes you can do that, and it would not be blinding to others, as you don't have high beams on near others anyway ;)

The only downside is the ballasts use lots of power to start up, so flashing the high beams over and over could shorten the life of the HID's

yeah the bulb life will suffer dramatically. Sorry forgot to mention that.

Plus the HIDs do take a minute to get to 100% output and colour

Ok I might just go with some good halogen bulbs then. But if this is an issue how do the aspires get around it, or do they have a capacitor that holds a charge or something?

Their HIDs are different. It is the one light, and they drop a shutter which rises to reveal the whole lamp on high beam, via the projector lens.
