To do it properly, you need a contact adhesive. Spray onto both surfaces leave for a couple of minutes to get a little tacky and then apply.

You need to do a roof lining properly due to gravity working against it!

Kudos for doing this yourself Graham... I love DIY but I am at the point where I would probably just pay someone to do it :P

Yeah I'll definitely be redoing it, what do you mean by contact adhesive, do you have any brands or anything you'd recommend?

I am just going off what Chris at Concord was using... didnt take notice of the brand....

The idea is that you wait for both lots of glue to become tacky, and then when you place the 2 together the glue bonds quickly....

The contact adhesive talked about comes in many brands but the most common one is Anchorweld. As said above you need to spray both the roof lining board and material and let it be almost dry to touch and then stick it on. ALSO, you should actually be giving two coats of glue to both the board & the material due to it being upside down.

Best way for this glue to work effectively is by using it in a glue gun connected to a compressor.
