The main reason the RRM one does not fit is the size of the plates here in AUS are bigger than the USA plates.

Unless you're in QLD, where we can get personalised USA-sized plates but they are extra money.

we need to source this side plate , looks like it'll fit our plates perfectly and it clears HID washer.

it sticks out as the bumper curves so that the plate is still flat looking

I'm off to the UK at the end of November, will try and get a price for the mounting kit from Mitsubishi, and if reasonable bring a couple back over

Excellent - I've been wanting to get Euro plates for my car - this would look good!

Just got one from Canada in the mail today that Speedie told me about.

It fits okayish, but not how I want it to, the side has a bit of a "grip" in it so it isn't flat against the bumper <-- that makes no sense, so here's a pic instead

First pic is with it on, I used the rear plate because the front was zip tied on and I didn't want to remove it incase I didn't like the side mount plate.

I wonder if the ARS one will fit :D

I was making some inquiries into the side mounting plate, and I was informed that it's deffectable if the front license plate is not completely parallel to the front axle or something along those line.

Is that correct or was I just fed a lot of hot air?

Hmm I'm not 100% sure on that one acctually.

I've seen plenty of Evo's with it in that location, every Alfa Romeo has it there too.

Some skylines have it on the left side.

I'll ask a police officer next time I get pulled up and clarify

I think some members on here have previously researched the actual rules, and I think Mark-VRX is pretty close. However I don't think it has to be parallel, just has to be viewable from a certain angle, so it depends on the curvature of the bumper etc.

Supposedly our cars don't fit this requirement, so obviously its a risk if you do it.. but how big a risk I don't know. It's true theres heaps of side mounted plates on other cars out there and I find myself asking what are the chances you'd come across a cop who'd know it's a defectable mod on our cars. Even more so when you think that they don't book people with HID's - especially the extremely glaring obvious ones.
