I have received some PM about my fog lamp surrounds. So I thought I would let everyone know you can chrome plastic. I believe it first has to be copper coated before chroming. It is just a matter of finding a Plastic chroma in your area. I think they cost me between $100-$200 AND TOOK 2-3 WEEKS.When I received my fog lamp surrounds back from chroming, the chrome had overlapped onto the grill part, so i had to very carefully cut the extra chrome off. Once this was done I painted the rest so any little knife marks can not be seen.

never considered the idea of chroming plastic... but I guess if there's a desire someone will work out a process.
Not too sure if I'm going to chrome any parts of my car. Halfway considering the almost all black Ninja/Stealth look, maybe some CF look finish here and there.

I knew you can chrome plastic and fibreglass aswell, i just didn't know anyone that actually done it so I was wandering on the cost.
What I am after is a flat plastic or fibreglass bumper cover.
Something like this but flat, without the indentations.
If its indented where the numberplate goes then thats fine but I want the rest of it flat.
If anyone knows where I can get one please let me know. If I can find one I will get it chromed.
This is my attempt at using chrome vinyl to achieve the look I am after.
Not very good, I would really love a chromed bumper cap.

That would look great a flat plastic insert. It would be more resistant to the weather and road conditions, e.g. stone chips then vinyl. I notice you put this in the sponsors idea competition, you have my vote. Good luck !
If there was a flat insert design it could be screwed to the bumper from the inside through the number plate holes and or double sided tape and we could paint or chrome to suit ourselves. Chromed would look awesome on your black car, I am not sure on champagne, but I would give it a try.
