It would not be impossible to do, however it will not come cheap.

Some items needed will be:

- KOS ECU
- KOS Ignition barrel and ECU
- KOS sensors (4 different ones)
- External beeper
- Door handles
- Boot Switch
- Remote units

I'd estimate $2500 at least. Just trade in on a VRX haha

This might be a silly question, but the seat covers:
) MR936409 - Front = A$220.00
ii) MR936410 = A$280.00

I'm pretty sure these are the exact ones I saw in the catelogue at my dealership, who quoted $750 (fitted).

Do these slip over the top of the current seat fabric, or are these a "replacement" for the current seats fabric, like the leather seat covers from X-factor I've seen install guides for where you have to strip everything down to the foam?

Just wondering, as the $250 extra might be worth it for someone else to install if they don't slip over.

These are just throw overs of a kind. They don't cover the whole seat.

I'm more than probably going to be getting an iPhone in the near future so I'll probably hit you up for the iPod MMCS cable.

Just a few questions though

Will it work with an iPhone and will it charge an iPhone or is it just for the iPod? (have the full functionality to use steering wheel audio controls for example)

To install do I just remove the MMCS unit and plug it in then feed the wire through the back of the glove box?

If it's connected and playing music will the bluetooth functionality for calls still work?

Sorry for all the questions, if you're unsure I can just send off an email to my dealer and ask them

Cheers

Regarding the iPhone kit, you'll need this:

MZ360221EX MMCS iPod Cable = A$135

Yes it plugs straight into the back of your MMCS and then it's up to your creativity where you want the wire to reach.

If you go to Mitsu to do it they'll probably route it to your glove box. If you DIY, I suggest you do it like me and make it come out your center console arm rest lid. The wire will still fit through the gap the lid leaves when closed and then you can plug your phone in when you get into the car. Much easier to reach than your glove box. You can see this in my garage.

Once plugged in, your iPhone will immediately switch to iPod mode but will still take calls. In both the iPhone and iPod, you can go through playlists using your MMCS screen or the steering wheel controls.

The cable in its default form will NOT charge the iPhone. It will work on both iPhone and iPods (after 2008) but will not charge them. The solution is this:

Retails in the US for US$29.99

Awesome, thanks for all the detailed info +1.

I'll send you a PM when I want to buy one, which will probably be next week when I get paid.

before people claim I'm out to rip them off. This part is what Mitsubishi suggest:

MZ360221EX MMCS iPod Cable = A$135

On the other hand we know that the MMCS is a Kenwood system and I think I remember reading that if you used a generic Kenwood iPod cable it might work?

So a quick search on eBay reveals that you can get a Kenwood iPod Cable for US$20.00 delivered.

It looks right similar to the one I have in my car and the head fitment is also similar. Don't remember about the number of pins though.

Still it works off 12V.

Would you or someone else be willing to give it a go? You'd save heaps!!

My dealer said it was $160 when I asked about it a few months back so ofeys price is cheaper, for some reason this part is just expensive.

I'll give that one a go, I'll buy it when I get home because I don't really want to get caught on eBay at work.

I'll be the test dummy to see if it works and I'll let you know if it does or doesn't :) If it doesn't work then I'll buy the OEM part off you, ofey.

Perhaps as a check you should take out your mmcs and look behind to see how many pins there are as a preliminary check.

Would at least makes sure you can plug it to begin with!

I'd hazard a guess that the OEM Kenwood and retail Kenwood units will have different cables and plugs.

I await the results :)

I just purchased it for $25.19(AUD) from that eBay store,

I'd prefer not to take half my dash apart possibly twice so I'll check it when it arrives, if it doesn't fit I'll sell it to a friend or something.

Hopefuly it'll be hear next week sometime and I can let you guys know if it works or not.

I'll also take pics of the MMCS port so that everyone can see what input it uses :)
