I think it has been said many times on here before, as long as they are UV Blocking Quartz globes. The UV will get them long before the merest increase in heat will....

I have the Crystal Visions, but a different experience with them. Been running since this start of 2008, so I am on a good one! Also have them in the Duc and the Moto Guzzi, for well over two years now.. which is good, since bike run headlights full time....

the base of the globe will have the correct wattage that the globes puts out..... then i would refure to the box the came in... i ran arctec blues on my statesman and im shore they 55w low.... in sayin that i had after market head lamps in it so it wasnt running the h4s i had to use h3s

Make sure you purchase the HB4 not h4 as they have a different base and connection.

I accidentally bought a set of h4's before reading carefully that the lancers have a hb4 fitting. Lucky my parents car have headlamps which take h4's so I'll install it in their car when I have time.

Love the look of the whiter Philips Crystal Visions (wont say they make a HUGE difference - although they do cause the cateyes to fluoresce quite a distance, which makes driving easier at night).

The look of whiter light is more appealing.

I'm looking at replacing my stock bulbs - the Philip's Crystal Vision that people have, is it the 4300k (model 9006). I have found a set on eBay for $60 delivered with free pair of T10 parker bulbs, who knows how good they are anyway. I just put in Narva Arctic Blues. I tend to notice details of things an in this case it was the printing on the 'plastic' base fitting where it angles. Mine list two(2) wattage numbers on both the high and low.

One set of numbers is the 51W Low, 60W High.
The other set of numbers are listed as "Blue Point" which are the 55/65.

@cyssero: No, that aint our bulb, refer to tryg's post. That's direct from the manual.

Repco and autobahn both have Narva's, though they don't often have the HB3 and HB4 in stock as they're somewhat unique fitting to New Japanese cars. I got lucky and the Repco where I got mine was able to bring in a set from another store.

Edit: I'd just like to note that getting at the high beams is a touch fiddly so exercise patience.

Will make sure I get HB4s. How are you finding the Arctic Blues? May be the ones I end up with because they have the ADR compliance (unsure about Philips).

EDIT: Looks like I can get Philips Blue Vision 4k for under $50 delivered with parkers. I'm guessing there is a big diff between the Crystal and Blue though, Blue give the 'Xenon' look apparently. Just gotta make sure I'm getting 51w not 55w. Is there a huge problem with using 55w in 51w? Some earlier complaints about heat but looks like a few people are using them.

@cyssero: I haven't really taken a good chance to get a proper idea; only a quick drive to the shops on lit streets (no high beam) since fitting them.

The light is certainly noticeably "whiter" and reaches further.

Edit: Ok, just did a run down an unlit stretch and here's my assessment of the Narva Arctic Blue's. How much you notice the effect of these bulbs will depend a lot on the roads you drive and the quality of the lighting on those roads.

- Well lit major roads and around major intersections you won't really notice them.
- In older suburbs with sparse lighting, or lighting away from the roadside, you'll notice them more.
- Unlit roads is where they really shine, especially if you take the slight extra hassle of switching out the highs. Reflective lane and side markings are very clear as are signposts (especially the newer kind) and the light reaches a lot further.

- Disclaimer: this is just my opinion and opinions vary.

This was my complaint. As I have found out now, after months of using them, there shouldn't be a problem with heat. I posted them when I first got them, and found that they were a bit hotter than normal, however nothing has happened since then, and they work perfectly fine. No side effects.

Use the 55w if you can. It's easier to find.

I reckon I might go for them, they're priced well and have ADR approval.

That is a good price. I paid $70-80 for the Narva Arctic Blue's but then I don't have an easy way to buy online short of direct deposit so I prefer to source stuff locally and pay cash where possible.

I got ripped with my XTreme Visions.... paid $80 each shipped to my door. This was when the dollar was down at pretty much it's lowest point for these couple of years. So I reckon you're getting a bargain.

Blue Visions are ADR approved, mine; the Crystal Visions are NOT ADR approved...

I have no issues with the law or any anomalous heat etc...

I have used the Blue Visions and prefer the Crystal Visions.
