You will need more than what he has to turbo your rehular CJ, but it is a step in the right direction, and a decent sized one.

Verrrrry tempting. Worst thing is that my car is a daily drive so couldn't pull it off the road long enough to develop it.

your gonna need more then just the turbo kit. im pretty sure the stock turbo runs pretty high psi. at least over 10. you will need at least to get new cams cam springs and cam seats or what ever they are called. need stronger intake manifold possibly higher compression pistons umm what else better bearings basically completely new engine internals. or you risk the possibility of blowing your engine. ORR you can run the turbo at a much lower psi. up until you get new internals.

but i must say the RA turbo is probably your safest option for a turbo with out major problems but you will still need a major ECU reflash or at least have the RA ECU ROM put on your ECU

I understand all the extra items that would be required. I would not be running high boost into the engine.

As for the ECU flash, that is on the agenda regardless of turbo :D

yer but if you do you will require another one after the turbo is installed or right after you get it installed. otherwise your car will run horridly with the stock es ROM

I am aware of this,

I have serviced for my mate who is ex NSW state rally champion, has been in the top 5 in an asia pacific event, and in the ARC. I have plenty of people and information if I were to do it.

The big issue is I cannot pull my car off the road for weeks to do it, and am strongly considering saving up for an evo :D

Do it lzy_eye... get an evo but yes there's lots of work to be done with putting a turbo in but is rewarding when you have the time and money to do so.. it would be much easier to just buy a car that comes with a turbo already but some people just don't have money (especially myself) to buy and evo or to add a turbo to the existing car..

All i can say is best of luck to you Speedie, i'll be watching out for your progress and admiring your ride
