No offence intended Tadz,

But changing spark plugs is "too technical" for you, so you attempted to install AEs?

haha :P

In... was going to change to NGK spark plugs, but these sound better :P I hope... When's the expected delivery?

And yes, I too need someone to show me how to install spark plugs and the leads (i want to change the leads as well to NGK, ap-parently better performance as well?) :P

Delivery should be around a week after all payments have been received. Could be slightly longer but will be trying to get it finalised ASAP

Our Lancers have a different set up to how cars used to be set up. The coils actually sit directly on top of each spark plug. There are upgraded coils etc no idea what they cost but can't imagine what the costs would be!!

I will try and write a small how to but probably won't have time till next weekend.

Coil is on top of spark plug, so its pointless getting new leads. You'll need to upgrade coil pack.

Ahhh ok... fair enough... i guess that's an upgrade best left til next time then... and until more parts come on to the market, seems nobody has these particular parts for our Lancer yet...

I am sure that I could find them, but really you wouldn't get any change out of about $1000 I would think. Not a cheap upgrade.

Hey Guys,

I haven't checked the manual but aren't our Lancers already fitted with these plugs stock???--

http://www.machv.com/denirsparplu.html

If so what kind of extra performance or benefits are you expecting with these HKS plugs as they are also Iridium???

The CJ's do run a better plug than what was seen to be regular. I was told they are platnium plugs but could be iridium.

The HKS uses a smaller electrode which means a more efficient spark and has been known to improve fuel economy and engine response. The manufacturers also claim more horsepower.

At the end of the day putting a set of spark plugs in is not going to make your ES perform like an EVO (I can only wish ;) ) Personally I am trying to get as much benefit I can without spending money on changing engine components.

At the end of the day, the HKS are a no compromise, premium quality product which surpasses OEM fitment.

from the comment above so everyone KNOWS what they are possibly buying....

HKS Have NGK make these plugs for them- TO HKS'S DESIGNED SPECS

You can't buy this STYLE & SPEC OF PLUG FROM ANYONE EXCEPT HKS

without trying to cause a shit fight....

HKS have got to have a good product they are up there in the to 3 in the world for aftermarket performance.
they used to be with NGK then it went to Denso back to NGK....

Denso contract finsihed approx 3years ago
the contract finished and was up for Grabs and HKS went back to NGK they took it and has signed a min 5 year deal.

The reason i know this..... as I asked when in Japan I spoke to HKS DIRECTLY ABOUT THIS ISSUE.

So to answer the question
a HKS plug is a HKS plug not a NGK Factory plug with a HKS stamp.
In reference to Ralliart plus excatly the same situation
Ralliart Techs also have their own spec on plug and it is built to spec by NGK for Ralliart.

another way to think of it is to look at it this way,
why you risk a clean rep, clean name, to make a couple of dollars on sprak plugs not the smartest business move.

I have personally used these plugs for sometime now and they deal with the abuse that i give them at a circuit.
I know that
Serval big name cars here in Aust also run these plugs.

they are the facts.
