Do you have the Touring Package or the equivalent there? We only get ASC on the 09 GTS with the Touring Package.

we have got it on all models here..
Quote'' from Mitsubishi Dealership.

Offering Active Stability Control and Traction Control (ASTC) as a standard feature across its entire model range,
the all-new Lancer is in pole position to shake-up the small car segment with its stylish, contemporary design,
nimble performance and industry leading safety standards.
At an affordable price point, things could not get any better for Australian motorists.

The inclusion of ASTC across the model line-up is just the start of the all-new Lancer’s groundbreaking safety story.
In addition to the Active Stability Control and Traction Control,
all Lancers now feature an ABS braking system with Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist.
A whopping seven airbags are available on all 2008 Mitsubishi Lancers -
entry level ES models receive standard SRS driver and passenger airbags and driver knee airbag,
with side and curtain airbags an affordable side option.
All other Lancer models – dubbed VR and VRX variants - receive the full seven-airbag pack as standard fitment.

Hey Matt - the first digital dash I saw was in a limited edition Olympic Edition Toyota Corona wagon from the mid 1980s that a mate from primary school's parents had.

Then there were also several digital dashes for speed at least in Fairmont Ghias and Fairlanes throughout the late 1980s and into the early 1990s.

Now some Hondas have them and also the Toyota Prius I think. Some Commodore/Berlina VY and on had them as well in the digital display but they also had the needle set up too.

Digital Dash's were fairly common in the UK for a bit The Vauxhall (Holden) Astra had it in the '90's.

Citroen seem partial to them the C4 has a digital dash.

The issue with acuracy is not that they can't update quick enough but your eyes can't read them. If you gun it then it is going to go from 0-100km in 10 seconds making the reading change very quickly resulting in you just seeing a blur till you slow your acceleration.

i think that the centre dash multi info display, is very unique...
it's only on high end cars, it is a very sophisticated setup.
tells you about fuel economy and fuel averages, traveling distances, fuel to go, temp warnings, ASC warnings, weather condition warnings, fuel low warnings and much more...

My MMCS does all that and more! my VW Golf showed all that too. Are you thinkingof BMW's "I drive" and Audi's equivalent, they basically have an in car computer that is controlled by one swivel button that controlls overeything from sterio, climate control, sat nav, suspension set up, trip computer, interior light set up etc etc. Once you get used to it is is fairly simple to use but isn't without its flaws, can be very clunky, having to go through 3 or 4 screens just to adjust the climate control

All the BA Falcons/Fairmonts I've had as work cars did that too... instant fuel, average speed, outside temp and so on and so on.... Poverty pack Commodres have had all that info available since the VZ in 2004.
