Not keen on cutting into the bumper so i definietely heading the vinyl blackout option. I didnt know there was so much work invovled. hoping for cut to size and stick job.

But i will do it properly.

Anyone recommend local sign writer in Ryde. I will start googling.

Instead of vinyl you could use PlastiDip spray on rubber like I did as well as a few others here and a number in the USA on different forums.

Here is my link-- http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=1226

It has pics and I have my results and techniques further in the thread.

great stuff and easier to apply in some ways than the vinyl Im sure.

I did mine with Vinyl I bought pre-fitted and cut for my car online before I joined the club. I installed it myself.

Ozie or Infinite can help you out with sourcing Vinyls for you and they'll do a better job than online stuff you can buy.

Have an OEM Sports Grill? If so, you can't Vinyl that easily, it's easier and better to take it out from the rest of the bumper, (very easy), and spray paint it Matt Black with Auto Enamel spray paint.

As long as its removable i may give it a go

No Matt he is talking about the PLASTIDIP spray on rubber I used as in my post above.

Woofermew,
It has been very good ,no problems at all so far, just need to avoid rubbing super hard or scratching it with anything sharp.

I just wash it normally with sponge when washing car and dry with chamois.

It should last for years and should peel right off clean if I need to do so.

After looking at the link to thread about it above if you have any Q just ask here or PM me and I will help you out.

Well if members in this forum vouch for this plastic dip stuff than i think im gonna give it a go. I read the post and very insightful thanks.

Now should i just call up one of those locations and see if they got any avail? the one at silverwater probably be closest to me.

Also Q on application, you spray it lightly over and not apply it too close?
Someone should write a tutorial on it :)

Hey Woofermew.

You will only need 1 tin, will be more than enough.
Remove top grill , there are pages on diff websites to show how, including on here I think.

I took grill out of grill frame and coated grill outer frame as this is not black but a charcoal grey, the grill and mitsu symbol mount are actually black as is the cars lower grill.

Mask all edges very carefully with blue painters tape and cover whole front with newspaper,
Clean surface with rub alcohol and u could use a dewaxer as well.
Spray it like applying paint, I did 5 coats 15-20min between but it was warm temp, approx 25C. Much longer if it is cool, damp.

Do not put so much on during each coat that it gets too thick and runs.
When finally dry ,use a sharp exacto knife and trim very carefully along tape edge and carefully peel off. Do not press hard enough to cut /score into the cars actual paint finish though.
Take your time and go VERY slowly doing this.

Very easy. If you have any other Q let me know.
