true true! as long as ur happy, plus all the gawkers with their jaws on the floor that u drive past, that's all that matters right?

;-)

I've seen the chrome vinyl @ sign shop - looks like it's better than we've been expecting - I'd say once it's on it'll be smooth as... wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and a chromed sheet of steel or plastic placed in front of the bumper - plus this is $15 vs. probably $200+ for a custom bumper + electroplating...

at first I thought chrome vinyl would be a write off too - but i think for this specific spot, it should be ok...

Hrrr... abandon that wheel idea spunky... spoke to a vinyl supplier today (if anyone can make it to thomastown vic $7 a metre for most vinyl!) and they said the chrome/metallics don't "work" outdoors, on the front of the car he reckons it'd last a week or two and on the sides maybe a few months. Aparently the metallic-ness gets affected by weather and general wear and will go off-colour and crappy looking...

:-(

Carbon Fiber vinyl is very easy to come by, you can easily get some at autobarn for like $20-$30 i think

I don't think that is the stretchy stuff, there are different types. I want the really flexible stretchy vinyl so I can cover my Auto Folding mirrors that are yet to be fitted, Maybe Ben can fit them for me

Roadrace make a Carbon Fibre bumper cap
Does anyone know if anyone makes a plastic bumper cap ?
I'm thinking of buying one and getting it electroplated chrome to match the Aspire chrome grills.

Everyone knows how bad roadrace are at replying to emails, so I don't need to tell you all that I have had zero replies from them about this. I even sent them an email asking about delivery cost for $1500 worth of kit I want to buy from them and still no reply.

They make some good stuff, but its impossible to get a reply from them. If there was someone else that made this stuff it would be great.

Slight problem with that idea Aspired...

You can't electroplate plastic, as it isn't electrically conductive. But you can get it coated, but that is expensive apparently.

Are you sure about that => http://www.chrometech.com.au/
"We electroplate plastic & fibreglass interior and exterior car parts up to 1.4 meters."
Most places I have seen call it electroplating
