They they are, because you cannot keep the shutter open too long. The last time I did fireworks, I had a casio 2MP 8x zoom camera.. it was surprisingly good!!

I love motion in photography.. I have seen a few good examples of 'pan and scan' on here, people have some good skills.

and to way into the lens topic i know exactly what you are talking about i just got a price on a wide lens and i wouldnt get anyone but the cannon but at the moment i only have a 100d so the lens would cost more than the camera so untill i get good enough to justify getting a better dslr i will do what i can with what i have :)

Jamez, as I have stated before, camera quality rarely betters general photography skill... I can show you photos from firends who only have cheapish film cameras that out-do even some so-called (self-professed) professionals, with cameras like mine.... At $12K for a body, they should take photos by themselves!!!

Take heart, my old man (a former photographer for Time Magazine in New York, during the '70s) says some of the photos I showed him on here are superb!

keep em coming, I actually enjoy looking a other people's perspectives on photo-taking and photography.

(can you guess I am on other forums too, especially photography ones!?!)

Thats the thing, photography is very subjective. So, what one person loves, another may think is a terrible shot.

A good photgrapher can get a great composed shot with any decent camera, and a not so good photographer (much like myself :P ) Can get a terrible shot with a good camera... it is just sometimes I get lucky!!

geez, stop knocking yourself down....! Composition and angle and light and situation and mood are all evident in your photo....

Be tops to see some more of your shots, keep em coming.

hehe same for most of us I guess... I love the central coast, had a holiday house at Budgewoi.. nice part of the world to photograph!

I definitely will be taking my camera to HMAS Albatross (Nowra) and HMAS Creswell (Jervis Bay)... I really want to get my car photographed next to a Sea Hawk or MRH 90 helicopter...!!!!!

Awesome shot Jamez,

This is the new addition to the family. My brother saved him from next door... his mum had twins and rejected him :(

Wow, hard to be critical of this shot, it follows the 'rule of thirds' perfectly...!

Next time, maybe you can try lowering your shutter speed one graduation, to get a little more motion blur... can also be an effective shot!

Very nice!
