Magnaflow Cat-Back

Postby exaltd » Mon Aug 10, 2009 2:27 am

Hey all,

I'm just wondering, anyone got the specially designed Magnaflow Cat-back system on their Lancer?

If so, how much was it, and where do they stock it? Hopefully those in Melbourne can tell me where they stock it.

Also was it easy to install, was it directly compatible with the OEM exhaust system? Or did things have to be done to put it in properly?

Finally, what does it sound like idling and under revs (high and low)? I don't want it to be too loud, or i'll get killed my my neighbours and family. I tried looking up youtube, but they aren't really accurate coz of my crappy speakers.

Thanks for your help.

You'll most likely have to get either a custom made system here or import the pre-made one from the US yourself.

You could use Manaflow mufflers on a custom setup,
that's what I did on my last car.

And one thing I have noticed with the lancer was how low the exhaust sits with the axle back designs.

I got mine done custom and it gives the installer the ability to tuck everything up further under the car.

I went cat back custom. Cost me $400.
You know that you have really got to someone when they invest personal time into tracking you down all over the internet.

You know who you are :)

Ok... just saw the price of the fully Magnaflow system (pipes and all)... 1k! not worth it?

I have no clue about exhausts.... so i'm guessing it's better to buy the axle back and then get a custom set up done? Or am i completely going down the wrong track here?

Damn, i really don't know anything..... please advise :)
