Leather Steering Wheel

Postby LZY_EYE » Tue Aug 04, 2009 6:19 pm

Hi Guys,

Is there anyone you can recommend in the Sydney / Central Coast area that can leather trim my steering wheel?

I am happy to pay a decent amount to have it done. I would figure about $100 would be the ball park, but not sure. I would prefer to go to someone that is trusted :)

I got a quote off a local trimmer up here and they said about $200 to $300, depending on the leather chosen. But that was not for the Lancer, and it was over the phone.

Guys I would highly recommend the following:
Max It Auto Trim
0412 220081
Ask for Max (The Owner) - Mobile service or drop off at his home (I think it's Menai?)
Great quality,Professional results and reasonable prices
Expect $200 - $300 for a top job
Quality leather and skills don't come cheap.

Thanks for the tip Chris.

$200 would be acceptable... wouldn't want to spend too much more!! I knew I should have listened when we learnt sewing etc at school :D

There is another place local to me that was recommended to do my headrest monitors... Might go and speak to them too....

Ouch! I think the leather seat covers from Shadows would make a great statement too... $300 for a trimmed wheel.. might have to wait for another couple of pays to come for that one! This might be one of the best looking mods though!

I have the stock leather trim steering wheel in the VR Platinum and it is nice :)

It feels a lot different when I drive my mums ES which is just the plastic one.
Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul.

Somebody just won lotto lolz

Congrats!!

I have seen and sat in numerous times Shadow's leather as seen in 33EASY's RA and my God, it is good stuff. top quality! Better than the leather in my mate's Volvo and Aunt-In-Law's BMW. No joke.

If I was to get Shadow's leather (which I would like to one day) I'd get it like that ^^, but without any logo. That's 33ASY's BTW.

I went the plain one.... I didn't want too much blue, so just went with the stitching.

I have never really had the opportunity to do too much to my car so I figure while I can I will do it!!

I will get some pics up when I get it installed.... need to find a victim to give me a hand ;)

I know Chris (33ASY) freaked when he saw all the different bits and he just paid an upholsterer to install it. Only cost $500 I think.
