Would you think that the Fugifilm S2000HD will do the job for what im looking for?

Hard to tell really. Its best you try em out at the store. Things to look for are obivously image quality, battery life and speed. Obviously point and shoot cameras werent designed for high speed but they can be frustrating if they're way too slow. And I also havent used a point and shoot camera in ages either.

I might be slightly Canon biased..but I'd still recommend the G9 or G10.

I remember back in the days when the Sony F828 was one of the king of cameras. Have a look at their H range too.

What exactly did you plan on shooting? Landscape? Sports?

Well, bout the camera as i said, thought id post up a picture of what the results were.

i was still fiddling with some of the settings but basicly, this picture was taken in the dead of night and without flash. Well...It was really dark at around 7:00. Exactly what i wanted....

ph33r this picture dial up!!

Just for comparison, this is how dark it was....

ph33r this one not as much

Shoulda waited a bit longer and saved up for a DSLR. They'll take pics like that with much less noise.

at the end of the day, i wouldnt of used the full capabilitys of the DSLR. Too many settings for me to screw up.

I just wnated to have a few settings which i could adjust and thats what i got. For what i paid for, its exactly what i expected and im really happy with it =)

the entry level DSLRs are very well automated and no harder to use than a normal camera and the larger lens and betterimage sensors are more suited for low light shooting in particular. Then there's all the extra manual and specialised modes you can put it into for better control.
