Factory window tint sratching?
Hey just wondering if anyone else had this same prob with the window tint scratching? I bought my Lancer with factory tint and it scratched like hell, I took it back like three times and their like oh nar cant fix it... I told them not good enough so they eventually ended up fixing it-they had to cut away some of that black plastic edjing at the top of the door where the window slides up and down through becacase it was too tight. So if anyone else has that prob YES you can get it fixed. Cheers... Lancerchic
I don't have all the details yet but mitsu have a felt lining or similar which is fitted so the windows still seal, and they don't scratch. I think some of the guys might have it fitted. Seems crappy they cut your window seals instead of doing it properly.
You know that you have really got to someone when they invest personal time into tracking you down all over the internet.

Yea I had that problem. Got an expensive aftermarket tint and the first time I put the window down it left a big scratch in the film. I took it back to the place that did it and they re-tinted it under warranty thinking they had scratched it when installing it. Now I just put my window down by pressing the button in short burst's as the scratch only occurred when the window had been put down all the way by continuously holding the button down. Haven't had a scratch since.
My dealer said the window sill strip costs $55/window for the fronts and probably a little bit cheaper for the rear windows and won't be done under warranty.
Rang Mitsubishi head office and they tell me their is no fix....
Quite frankly I think it's pathetic and don't see why we should have to pay for new seals because their old ones are shit.
