I just bought a hardwire kit for my dashcam (Viofo A119S).
Before I go and install it, I want to see some videos on how to remove the interior trim for the A pillar.
I've searched youtube but haven't found anything useful.
Does anybody have a link to some useful videos on how to remove it. Thanks

Re: Video on how to remove A pillar interior trim
You shouldn't need to remove them. I just poked the cable in the edge and it should stay.
Now I used to run them up the windscreen side and along the trim at the top to the centre of the car, leaving just enough to plug it in. So start from the camera. When we put in the hardwire kit he said you can just go along the top of the window the around the top of the A pillar trim and down the rubber seal on the other side. Which then takes you to the side of the dash.
My only concern with this is the curtain airbag, anyone else have thought on this?
Anyway the rest of the install involved removing the tiny side panel on the dash. You'll need to remove the panel to the left of the glove box, screw is just inside the open glove box. The side panel will pry off. It allows an opening into the dash to make a nice and tidy install.

Re: Video on how to remove A pillar interior trim
Thanks for those links @Lancer1993.
I think I know which side panel you mean. I think I had to remove it to install the head unit.
I guess that is why I'm a little concerned about just stuffing it into edge.
If I took it off, I would be more confident it wasn't in the way of the airbag somehow.

Re: Video on how to remove A pillar interior trim
I think the airbag would be more than powerful enough to push the lead out of the way, remember its a curtain so it basically goes down the glass when deployed. As long and the wire is not hooked over anything if the SRS goes off its gonna come down, it might in the worst case cut the power to the camera, depending on the camera you have.
If its down the windscreen side of the plastic then the plastic will likely go towards the windscreen with the SRS coming out between it and the A pillar.
This is JMHO, I'm not an airbag expert but I've seen enough photos to see where things end up.
Now this has got be thinking and I might move my wire

Here is a YouTube clip of a CJ in a crash test, you can see how the side airbag deploys.
