Yes aspires only come in cvt automatic. I like it as it has paddles and can be driven in manual mode. They also are more economical tgen manuals too.

Re: How's the forum these days
My first CJ was an 08 ES (brought new in December that year)
I didn't care about the extra features from the VR and VRX because I knew I would change it all out. Remember the first VRX and aspire was a 2.0 not the 2.4 and I didn't care about the body kit etc. So the es was a lighter vehicle = faster and only cost me 19,990 drive away
The mods I had were;
ECU tune (better fuel economy, higher rev limiter, more power then the 2.4)
Genuine Ralliart rear bar with ralliart twin exhaust.
Front and rear chassis braces
Front Tower brace
Aftermarket front bar
1500w RMS sound system
Was such a good car.

Only the MY08 VRX's came out with 2.0l engines. So did the Olympic edition which the Aspire was based on.
All aspires were MY09+ and MY09+ VRX's were 2.4l engines

Re: How's the forum these days
I know roughly when I drove the Stock ES is was roughly 10s 0-100, I know at best when my high flow was in my GSR was 7.4s nothing amazing but I reckon with bit more effort the car could hit into the high 6 mark! I will always promote the 2.4 for a better base but everything else honestly can be changed, ultimately it is upto you, but it’s great to get an old CJ member back!

Ohai Spunky
I'm still around but dont post anymore.
You probably remember me as that annoying learner driver. I did an evo X engine conversion a couple years back and recently car died on a long drive interstate. Still own it, but its stuck at the mrs house until I get it fixed.
Bought an ASX in the interim haha

well it could have been an VR-X 2.4L into an EVO X... not sure if it'd run right though

Tried to do this with a GTiR engine into a friends Nissan Primera (sportier bluebird), essentially the same engine, same years etc, just with a turbo... took 5 years to get it going, so to have his going then not, he did well

Re: How's the forum these days
@Troy - If you only knew the pain I went through to get it working.
Driving it is fun, I've got an LSD in the gearbox also so the torque steer is managed quite well. When it was running properly I was munching stock X's.
Then started having fuel system issues which meant I had to turn down the boost, then car died recently on a long drive and hasnt been running for the past 3 months. Gotta send it to a mechanic to get it sorted in the area its been left in

Daaamn I would imagine that would be from the great difference in power to weight aye? Was it a stock X engine or did you do much to it to boost the power up from the 221kw mark

I have a fair idea Michael. It's not just a matter of bolting it in. Hopefully it's something only minor.
Do you have ralliart fuel pump and lines?
