Yeah when I bought it it was the same price as the standard model so I got the Black Edition. Anyway I’d rather this thread be about the mods not the negatives of the car. Anyone got some audio install photos of their Lancer

Welcome to the group dude unfortunately, this is probably the worst part about the forums. People will go to any lengths to destroy what you have bought etc and tear it completely apart.

Would you really notice the extra 3kw?
I mean if it was more usable saw lower down in the rev range maybe but if the power curve was the same just a little bit more I don't think you'd notice it.

Does it have the 2.4ltr exhaust manifold or does it still have the clam shell? Could that make the extra 3kw.
Can someone with one lift the bonnet and have a look!

I believe the engine has been tuned slightly differently for better emissions rating, there may be slightly different parts involved. If you did the usual mods and tuned it, it's likely the engine will produce similar power to and older CJ engine post EPAS. The base engine and head is at least 11 years old, it was meant to be replaced with the 4J head I believe, but their financial trouble at the time prevented that. Probably would have saved money in the long term producing less engines as the 4J's are used, but corporate politics.

An electric water pump would probably be a great addition, but apparently due to access to the mechanical water pump dammed difficult to install.

Don’t notice it being hot at all. Aircon works great. It’s dark inside at night though. The black roof lining really makes the inside nice and dark especially at night. Will be even better once the tinting and ceramic paint protects goes on next week! Just need a dash mat as the dash reflects onto the windscreen and the lining around the gauges on top reflects right onto the windscreen and I can see the relflection when I’m driving. Slightly annoying but will be fixed soon

This is just a myth and has no basis in fact.

IMHO the Back Edition CF looks best in white.

Looks gorgeous mate! I love the black roof, makes it really pop, I can also say the aircon in the lancers are amazing, even if the whole car was black a few minutes and you got yourself a winter season cabin!
