Have a look on Google, Hella and Narva do a good range of LED tail light options, although it looks a bit naff (it is bulb, and an MX5 :lol: ) but this sort of arangement is possible:

Or you make an OEM fitment one work from another vehicle, i think this one is a VW:

Hella 9001L are the LED version of those lights, they do them in stop/tail, reverse, and indicator, all are ECE compliant, but you will need to confirm they are okay for automotive use in Australia, they are usually listed for power sports vehicles (bikes and trikes) and light and heavy trailers. they're on the back of Land Rovers, but coming out on a vehicle from factory is different to retro fitting.

Spot on about retrofitting the unit
Best people to talk to would be a custom car/hotrod shop they will know the ins and outs of it for sure

So close? I suspect there will never be aftermarket tail lights for sportsbacks
