If the paint is metallic and you try and touch it up youself and you dont know what your doing theres a good chance you will make it even worse cos the paint wont match and be even more obvious.

Better yet
Talk to the pros like i suggested earlier.

lol! Agreed, a clean surface free of contaminants is essential, goes without saying! Furthermore, doesn't hurt to touch up the
area you paint with plastic adhesive undercoat also available in similar spray cans. Also not essential but helps adhesion of acrylic paint to 2 pack
as used on the car. :D

Have touched my car up on those minor marks don low and now don't even notice them myself!
Have on occasion over the years even sprayed and feathered the area with acrylic with no misgivings.

So does every panel repair shop! Maybe worth a try, could Finnish up doing it for less or the whole panel
for not much more!

Sounds like overkill!!!!!

Got recommended this paint kit from Automotive Touchup Paint. Price seems decent, takes 20-30 minutes to cover it up professionally, apparently tradies use this kit too. https://www.cartouchuppaint.com.au/buy/ ... ikit-3-btp

It's for Metallic paint, video here for those interested https://youtu.be/-Vw9bS003Ho

Their Facebook page, photo of car damage sample https://m.facebook.com/AutomotiveTouchu ... &source=54

If it doesn't work, I will just get a JDM bandaid as one of you's recommended :lolhit:

every repair shop uses 2k paint.... For $350 just take it to a smash shop and you wont even see the damage again. If the touch up guys are just using a paint brush you will still see the damage and isnt worth the money and lowkey is a ripoff. I know at my repair shop if you just wanted a quick fix we would just make up some paint and do it for nothing. But since its metallic the touch up wont be that good. like i said before its better just taking it to a smash shop and getting it fix right if you really care about your car.

Little scrapes and bumps happen though, particularly on a bumper.
I might add a pic of my car once I style the exterior a bit :).

Every repair shop may use 2 pack paint .
Your touch up paint you buy from supercheap and the rest auto is it 2 pack paint?

Have you spoken to the touch up guys and see what they are going to do?
The one here can remove the panel and spray paint it.
No doubt other franchises can do it also

If it were me I'd try some DIY, probably get the paints needed for about $50 including some clear top paint, mask off the area and leave space for over spray. might take a bit of work but could save you a packet depending on your skills.

Maybe we need some workshop days where people with skills can meet up and spend the day doing stuff like this, small mods or electrical stuff.

STEP 1 - Get a hacksaw
STEP 2 - take out any rage you have left by sawing your bumper at the effected area
STEP 3 - ZIP TIE TIME BABY!

DIY or shop?

mate did his WRX rims from silver to gold with rattle cans, he's really into detail, spent 3 days with his car on jack stands, sanded down all of one day. day 2 finished sanding, fixed the tiniest spec of rash, started spraying into day 3, then clear coated them. its a lengthy process whatever way you spray (dam i got some rhymes going)

no idea on shop prices

Prefer shop, like you said DIY is lengthy and would rather drop it in for some time and pick it up later haha
