Mineral Turpentine

Postby Lancer1993 » Fri Sep 15, 2017 11:14 am

Mineral Turpentine - Why does it cost so much more at some stores?

So I'd normally get it at SuperCheap Auto but...
SCA brand $5.99
http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Produc ... tre/365130

Try the big 2 supermarkets...
Woolworths - Diggers $5.99
https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/prod ... turpentine
Coles brand $5.85
https://shop.coles.com.au/a/a-national/ ... turpentine

By far the cheapest for the 1lt bottle is Bunnings!
Diggers $3.23
https://www.bunnings.com.au/diggers-1l- ... e_p1560821

The next closest was The Reject Shop
KCB brand $4
https://www.rejectshop.com.au/All-Produ ... p/30003768

I know the brands are different but its all the same stuff, why such a big price difference?

Maybe its just me but we shop around to save a few cents on fuel so why not on this stuff?

Still worth getting this at a lower price and not pay the stupid $6 a Lt the supermarkets and SCA want.
I was just amazed by the price gap, its like one servo charging $1.20 and the next over $2 a Lt for ULP!
Also IGA wanted $6 for a Lt from memory.

Like most I use it mainly for painting and cleaning but when I can I'll use petrol for the brushes and save the turps for other jobs.
