TRANSMISSION COOLER

Postby sarusa » Sun Feb 26, 2017 9:08 am

Is it worthwhile fitting a transmission cooler for a CVT for std NA set up, presuming it has a pipe running through the radiator already.
Normal day to day driving occasional long trip, self plus one passenger. :?

Will it be necessary or beneficial on a std NA set up, also any recommendations re type and brand.

I believe they all should have coolers fitted in our harsh Australian conditions. It will save the life of the oil.
Some early models were fitted coolers as standard. I personally would look for a second hand unit at the wreckers and fit it rather than an aftermarket unit.

One thing about the CVT, it creates its own limits as to how hard it can be pushed.
So other than for, towing, heavy lodes and really hard driving with steep inclines, should be OK.
