Newbie ~ Lancer Aspire

Postby anam » Mon Feb 13, 2017 9:29 am

Hi there guys, I'm Anam from Sydney. This forum seem to have a lot of useful info on lancer so I bookmarked it asap :D

I recently sold my 2005 old mazda3 and bought a Lancer aspire MY2011 with 87000km. Everything is stock and I don't have plans yet for majors changes except for some adjustment in regard to the MMCS (i think its gen 1, 2009/10) and getting it to work for music streaming from my phone. Seem like getting a bluetooth transmitter would be easy hassle free option but keen to know if there are better options.

I've read the guide here on how to DIY reverse camera installation, seem pretty detailed but will probably get more familiars before I think about getting one :P

Welcome to clubcj.

Fitting the reverse camera is a good little mod to do to our Aspires

So far things are great! Though I have some more questions that I couldn't find answers yet.

1. Is there away to make the interior lighting open for awhile after entering and exiting the car(engine off)? My old 2005 Mazda use to do it and its pretty convenient to have some light on before i start driving or exiting (e.g taking bags etc out).

2. There is an iPod cable on side of dash board. Is it possible to change it to other type (micro usb/usb c or others?). iPod connectivity is great but lets be real who uses them nowdays haha (iPhone/Android phone pretty much does it all).

Will be great if someone can help me with these! Cheers :P

It should stay on for about 30 seconds or until you turn the key fob.

haha I also like the overall look at front.

Originally planned to buy a lancer with spoiler but after reading up the different versions of lancer i decided to go with either vrx or aspire. Found a vrx slightly over my budget range(private seller) but due some paint peeling off at rear bumper i went for the Aspire (from dealer) which seem to be in a better condition. xp

Adding a spoiler is still in mind but might have to read around first and save up.
