Hey mate, welcome to the club!

Best things by far for performance are an RA snorkel and a tune from Merlin. You'll feel the power straight away and it'll be like a new beast.

I've never really been into much cosmetic stuff. I do have Rally Armour mudflaps though which look cool and protect my car ;D
I have a Toyota 86 Pushing over double and a half the stock power which absorbs all my mod money but I've been tuned by Merlin. Best money spent on the car!

I too have had a merlin tune and as mentioned above, it is money well spent.

If you want visual mods too, flick through the how to section. I've done most things there with little effort.

You could also look through the n/a performance section and do a few improvements from there.

Ask if you have questions. We're all nice enough!

lol Cat back would be better, but not essential. axle back is all that is necessary sound-wise.
Cat back would help improve performance to a degree. :)

Thanks all for the opinions, yer was looking at getting a cat back system put in and as for cosmetics I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a RA Bonnet that is a direct bolt on and was wondering do I need to get a whole new front bumper if I was to move my front numder plate to sit under the headlights?

You can buy a bracket that screws in to your existing bar. No need to buy a new one.

Merlin is the guys username. His name is David Hinde. He is a member of the forums. Search for his username "merlin" and send him a pm and ask the question. Last time he done one was in Brisbane where about 8 people booked in to have him tune their cars. I think he lives around Sydney?? I could be wrong. Ask him though!!

For power mods, there are some significant gains to be had with the following:
1. 200 cell CAT. The stocker is the biggest restriction to the overall airflow.
2. RA snorkle. The stocker is weird and somewhat restrictive. The RA also does not have any resonator/damper feature.
3. Cosworth or TOG air filter. Actually the stock paper filter is not a bad unit.
4. Intake grill mod. This is the done by removing the grill in front of the snorkle intake. There are good threads on this hearabouts.
5. Merlin Tune. Some top end improvements, much stronger mid range and a lot better throttle response. Some fuel economy improvement too.

Use the stock airbox and suction pipe for best results with all these mods and you wont get defected.
