Window seals

Postby Dannn » Mon Dec 19, 2016 2:02 pm

Hey guys, can anyone help me out with the part numbers for window seals and where to buy them? My drivers door window seal is not in the bestest condition. Its gone all wavey.

Also, the rubber seals under the bonnet at the rear end of the bonnet.

I think mine are doing the same thing. Do you notice that they're making streaks on the windows? I could scrub my windows with iso and they'll be crystal clear, but once I roll them down they're streaky.

My passenger side lives streak/scratches on the tint but im talkin about the top section seal not being straight and doing its job as a seal!

I pointed it out to wadeVRX at the last tune session hoping he may know somewere besides mitsi that stocks them.

Edit: Welcome to the forums friend! Heaps of knowledge here!

Yup, wouldn't mind replacing mine, they are easy to remove, just don't have the money to buy new ones if they are gonna be super expensive. Could probably try a wreckers.

Well, I might have spoken too soon :P had to replace the passenger side front window seal on my old Laser, they just had clips holding them on nice and tight, you just pull them off with the window rolled down. Don't want to try on my Lancer because if they are brittle they can break, and since I don't have replacements.... that could be bad :P

They are quite literally the window seals for the window. The black rubber duverlacky that goes around each window to stop wind / water etc coming inside. I dont need a photo for the class lol

Re seal at rear of bonnet. suggest you check out Clark Rubber. they carry a variety of profiles some even self adhesive. While profile might not match exactly it will do the job as effectively or perhaps better at a fraction of the cost. There is one I know of, hollow and self adhesive that should be ideal.

As it cant normally be seen who cares about exact profile!!! :D

@sarusa

The bonnet seal has little nodules that "clip in" to the body frame. Self adhesives arent really ideal as ive already superglued the loose parts down so i might as well just leave it be. Thanks for the info though. If all else fails i know where to look.

I've heard boiling water removes superglue?
Have used the self adhesive stuff under bonnet, Works well, as does double sided tape. :)

The superglue is holding strong for the time being. Hopefully it will last and i wont have to buy a new seal for there!

Double sided tape and self adhesives are essentially the same thing :P

Tried Mitsubishi Parts? I would imagine they would be an OEM part only.If there is anyone making them aftermarket the quality certainly wouldn't be there.
