Just bought a 2009 Ralliart
Love it to bits
Needed a family car that still had some up and go so I sold my stock base model lancer and my 1992 Pulsar GTiR and bought this Ralliart.. She doesnt turn as many heads as my GTiR did (lol) but she's a clean, stock-ish example and that's how I like her.
She pulls hard and I'm not sure whats been done to her but there's a HKS panel filter, and "Zen Garage" and "JDM TUNING" stickers inside the engine bay..
Anyone recognise her at all??

Even the sedan is very practical, used it for a 3 week road trip a few months ago and we had enough room for all our stuff. The sports back is a bit more practical and was debating getting one.
Nice buy, wish I could afford to run one but my insurance quote was quite a bit more than the VRX I got.

I was never actually a fan of the sport-back, however it has now grown on me and I think I prefer it over the sedan.. Mainly for the "sleeper" value, as less people seem to recognise it as a performance vehicle when compared to the sedan which looks a lot like an EVO X.
Also,
My insurance came up @ $165.00 per month with AAMI.. Its seems a bit steep but I guess it is what it it... Its a fair whack higher than my old 2009 ES lancer but yeah it's worth it for the added performance value.
Whats the insurance like on the VRX mate? Must be under $100 per month depending on what year it is??

My insurance on my 09 VRX is $85 pm with RAC, insured for agreed value of $15k. Lancer1993's is the same year as mine so I assume it's somewhat similar.

My insurance is $58pm at AAMI (09 VRX) but I'm in the 'old guy' group of over 40s, I did check when shopping for the CJ and was told the RA would cost me 2-3 times as much, which I just could not afford at the time. Plus there were very few RAs around my area when I was car shopping. Until this year I'd always paid my insurance by the year but glade I went with the monthly plan this time.
I agree it's a nice sleeper and more practical plus in auto mode I guess more relaxing to drive when in traffic. If given the choice today between my VRX sedan and a similar priced RA sports back I'd do all I could to get the RA.

Yeah, I'd definitely go for a RA if I could afford it, but it was never in my price range (10k or less), regardless of insurance. Oh well, I love my VRX, and I'm still glad I got the manual over the CVT, but I don't know that my next car will be a Lancer (hopefully 2013+ Mazda 6, but that's many years down the track). I'd love an EvoX, but for my next car I'd like something just a touch more luxury.

The VRX was a huge step up for me coming from a 93 CC coupe. Got the VRX after much research as it was the best non turbo I could afford, not sure how long I'll keep it, depends what I can afford next. EVO would be nice but not very practical day-to-day and yes comfort is an issue for me too. Guess that's what the RA is so popular, most of the EVOs performance and easier to live with and lower running costs. That said an EVO would be part of my perfect 3 car garage. Its a same that the Lancer range is almost at the end of it's days.
