I am not sure on the rears. I believe they are the same as VRX calipers, disc and pads but actually have smaller shoes for the hand brake because of the rear hubs.

Personally I would just try to see if they fit. If not I would not be too concerned about upgrading the rears as they don't do too much of the braking any way. The other option is a VRX rear brake upgrade or maybe FWD outlander rear brakes.

i was looking into it as i need to decide what discs and pads to buy for the rears.

the twin piston RA fronts will still give me a massive improvement.

Agreed, I have Elig which brake well with minimum dust. I purchased from SKR. Not sure if he is still open or stock them anymore.

Lucky I was only ever planning on doing the fronts anyway

So Ralliart discs and calipers just bolt straight on to an ES? Nothing else hidden or tricky that I'll have to worry about?

Nothing tricky at all, just make sure you get the complete set including disc, calipers, pads, rear stone shield(these can b removed or lip cut off) and hoses.

As mentioned you are better off to fit VRX rears.

Before anyone asks the master cylinder is the same across all models.

As ES only has 16 inch rims, won't this be a problem? :?:

I don't think my stock 16 alloys will fit the RA calipers front.
they are roughly twice the size in comparison to ES calipers.
I have some 18" BBS wheels in storage i will need to find some good shoes for em.

Maybe not what you want but as another alternative you can use rotors and caliper bracket from an ASX to move to a 294mm disk, you reuse your caliper and pads.

I've done this with 16" wheels without any issues. The rear I've left as it's a much more intensive job, requires removal of hub, caliper and dust shield to do it properly, too much effort and cost for the minimal gain.

Are you sure about that?

Daniel I have the same 16" wheels at home that you have. I can see if they fit if you like. I always wondered this myself

I have sort of dry fitted the calipers whilst underneath one day with the 16"s and there is no way that i think it can fit. also needing a bigger disc with a bigger surface for pads.
They are almost twice as big in every direction.

looking forward to the group buy for brake gear :-)
