Will the OEM DRLs fit my Lancer?

Postby HT_8 » Mon Dec 07, 2015 7:14 pm

Hello everyone!

As the title suggests I'm wondering if the OEM DRLs will fit my 2010 Lancer SX? I've been told they won't fit my Lancer but I just want to make sure as I really want DRLs!

Thanks in advance. :)

Does your SX have fog lights and what shape is the fog light cut out?

There are specific ones for Ralliart and specific ones for yours. So the answer is yes. Just makes sure you get the right one for your bumper

There are a few listings on eBay for the genuine ones depending on your bumper design.

Older CJs
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GENUINE-MITS ... Sw~bFWHJJ0

Newer CJs
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-GENUINE- ... SwxH1T9WG~

For me I've got fog lights and found these on eBay, which allows me to keep both.

Here is the listing but you'll need some foglights to go with them.

I'd contact them first but don't see why the dealer wouldn't be able to get the same.

Not cheap, ming cost about 1/3 and look good with the fog lights, also I painted the chrome black on mine.

As you probably know there are far cheaper ones on eBay but nothing else that will fit and look the part. That said for not much more there are some replacement head lights that have DRLs built in, and loads of designs to choose from.

He asked about the OEM ones
My friend fitted them on his mums 2010 ES
They work well and dim when the lights are on like DRLs should
I dont think he has issues

Mine also dim with the head lights on, just like the factory ones. I know some say they should go off, which they did on my last car but they were not OEM and could be made to fit any car depending on where you want to mount them.

I wasn't sure if they made the DRLs for older CJs but clearly by the eBay links they do so I'd go see them again or maybe go to an installer, they might be able to get a better price than the dealer.

Just as a matter of interest, the genuine OEM Lancer DRL's are made/supplied by: ROSTRA Precision Controls Inc

You may be able to contact them for a price since the OEM's MZ350287 seem pretty expensive @ $439.

I went into Mitsyi chasing driving lights and there's two different styles. One for the Ralliart style front bumper and one for the normal Lancer bumper. I got quoted close to $400, see if I can find the quote when I'm home. Not including installation.

There are guides on YouTube for fitting the OEM ones, depending on your CJ it should be plug in with no wires need cutting.

I agree $400 plus is a bit high when the actual parts would cost a fraction of that but this is a genuine part. For that price it should include then coming to your home and fitting it then detailing your car!

@Damir - Who is this mate, $50 sounds too good to be true?

$50 is extremely cheap they charged me $9 just to buy one of those black plastic push clips in the tyre well.

Yeah if for any reason I don't decide to purchae the OEM DRLs I'll definitely check these out. They look very nice on your Lancer especially with the chrome painted black!

Is this for the DRLs or the instal quote? If it's for the DRLs why is it so cheap especially for OEM?

Thanks for the info Sam, I'll contact them and see what happens.
