What type of tinting should I get?
Hi guys! My Red beast is arriving soon and Im already thinking about tinting it, just wondering what % darkness should I get for it? My previous car was dark blue so i got a pretty dark tint, not too sure with this one, and any concerns with tinting on the CJ??

They have major problems with scratching. Make sure they felt up the seals when they put the tint on and this will minimize the scratching, but after a year even with felt on the seals I have a few scratches.
I went for 20% tints to try and match the privacy glass on my VRXs rear. keep in mind anything less than 35% is illegal though...

The privacy glass is 25%.
Even with the 5% the 15% would appear darker wouldn't it?
I know that already at 20% it's darker to look out my front tints as opposed to the rear privacy glass, cant really compare the outside as the privacy glass is more 'reflective' than tint....but it looks close enough.
EDIT: 20% can be a bit hard to see out of at night-time in the pitch black, but during the day it's great and cuts out alot of the sun's radiant heat!

The match is 99.9% perfect. You can't pick it by looking at it or through it. The only way I can spot any difference is parking beside a light coloured wall like White and looking through. But it is seriously stuff all difference most people wouldn't notice it even if they were looking for a difference.
I will confirm with him the %s but I'm pretty sure I have it right.
I got the 35% securatint (or whatever it's called) which is thicker than normal tint so its harder for someone to break the window or something. lol.
fitted by the dealer for $800 i think it was, a bit steep but it looks great!
My mum has an 07 ES (no tint) and I have the 09 VR Platinum and when you compare them you can definately see a huge difference
I haven't had any problems with that tint yet, but then again I've had the car for about a month or so now
