Here is a used one on eBay but in the US and with the current exchange rate and shipping will cost about $150 AU, so almost the same as the $170 I was quoted at a Mitsu dealer for a brand new one.

Notice you haven't opened up grill in front of snorkel.
As this is a pretty well sealed off area its possible your new snorkel is more
restrictive than the original because the original had an extra 25 extra holes clear of this area to help.
Noticed elseware you mentioned hole attaching front of snorkel didn't
line up. I think you will find the problem is it just needs a longer attacher.
