seanomccool wrote:I bought my 2.4 VRX a week ago. Today I did the first minor upgrade. Installed K&N panel filter to replace stock one. I didnt think simply changing the filter material would make a difference to the induction noise, but it really does sound less tinny now. I dont know if its added any power, but the noise makes it feel like I take off a bit quicker ;) Also gave it its first wash and polish since Ive had it. Looks clean and shiny now, but also revealed some minor scratches previously invisible :(

i had one in my sliver one before it got T boned i found i got more fuel econmy out of it

dw having red shows minor scratches on it too :(

Nothing exciting, just added a waterproof pet hammock to cover my back seat, as I'm buying a new puppy in the morning, so I thought one of these hammock things would be the way to go to protect my pretty new lancers seats :)

Lancer1993 wrote:ETA - was thinking of a K&N panel filter but not sure if its worth it, might be if it makes it sound faster LOL I do know the MCM guys busted the myth that pod filters make more power, I wonder if its the same with panel filters, also I heard the oils used can affect the air flow meter, how is this with the CJ?

I was tossing up between a pod filter and a panel. The rules here in NSW would require I go get an engineers certificate if I changed to a pod.

Panel was a lot less stress, adheres to the manufacturer engineer intake system and will take advantage of the RA snorkel I'm getting.

The pod filters I've seen for CJ's remove part of the airbox in order to fit, bypassing the snorkel system. This doesn't seem proper to me.

I might be wrong on that last bit. If anyone can show otherwise that they've got a pod filter in the airbox, would love to see it!

Plasti dipped my Indicators xD

Kinda being a tight ass atm and decided it would be easier to dip them instead of buying the smoked ones off ebay xD

Only did a light coat, but I still think they look good :3

Excuse the dirty car! After washing cars all day at work, it really makes you not want to do your own xD

Looks like there is enclosed pod filters! I'd be interested in seeing the figures of pod vs panel, both with RA snorkel.

Yeah I'd never bother with their own stats.

400% more airflow. 30% less fuel consumption. 30kW. 10% more street rep.

Today I thought I'd try my luck with plasti dip.
My car is pretty stock except I got a blue interior light and white/blue headlights.

This is a before and after shot with plasti dip.

I also got some chameleon plasti dip to do the diamonds, it's not a great photo but I think it looks awesome!

BTW, I'm new to this whole customising experience so please bear with me while I get excited over the little things *dance*
