New Owner/Member in Sydney

Postby seanomccool » Fri Feb 13, 2015 11:06 am

Hey All,

Name's Sean. Just bought myself a 2008 CJ Lancer VRX 2.4L. Absolutely in love with it.

Now starting down the long and dangerous road of modifying. Will be asking plenty of questions!

Moved to Sydney recently. Not sure if there's any Sydney cruises/gatherings going on.

Thanks for having me!

-Sean

PS: My stock ride:

Planned Mods:

Headlamps: Image

Interior lighting: I don't like the orange theme of the interior lighting. I plan on changing it to a nice clean white and blue combination. I'l also be adding a soft blue glow to the footwells.

Body: I want to get rear diffusers but I can't tell if the general consensus is that they look great or tacky. I think they look great.

Aero is good, but as you are a P-plater, the point at which the aero starts to work is always going to kill your licence.

On the other hand, if you loose the rear wing, fuel economy should improve a bit, so thats something of a plus.

For a P-plater, stealth mods are the go. Making the car lighter with some CF bonnet and boot will improve acceleration performance.
Tuning is good, a 200 cell CAT is good, look for the thread on intake mods, but leave all the funky aftermarket CAI stuff alone.

It's all between you and the car you build it's a bond, it's a commitment.

Yeah! Already been in contact with him. Gonna make some changes to intake/exhaust before I get a tune from him.
